Quality and Innovation
Tenon's processing plants are benchmarked to the world's most efficient operators.
All products manufactured at our Taupo site meet stringent, documented quality and grading procedures. Performance against these procedures is reviewed weekly by our Quality Committee.
We have also implemented our own continuous improvement programme, 'Triple III', which incorporates best-practice manufacturing programmes.
And a commitment to R&D:
The Wood Processing Industry is an evolving industry – and we’re determined to be at the forefront.
Tenon participates actively in a range of R&D activities. Firstly, we conduct our own in-house research, utilising leading New Zealand and offshore experts.
We also have had a significant shareholding in two independent research companies.
These investments have helped us improve our existing products, and develop new ones. Results have included better log segregation and selection methods, kiln-drying techniques that increase product stability, processing methods that maximise product recovery, and improved sawing methods.
